Many hats, one heart.

The love of my life.

To some I am Jean a friend or
Coach Jeune (current or former football/basketball Coach)
Mr. Jeune (teacher)
Jean a mentor
Pastor Jean (youth pastor)
Mr. Jean (former foster home team parent, or camp leader)
Jeune (former team mate)

The list goes on and on. However, it's my three "s" roles that define my my heart in all that I do.
Servant (I am Christ's servant)
Sweetie (husband to the best woman in the world)
Son (My mom dad hope for nothing but the best for me, I want to make them proud)

A lot of things in my day to day make me cry. I, at times, feel the same discouragment most people feel when it comes to trying to make difference in the lives of people and in this world. I can only continue when I remember to look at the faces that give me strength and encouragement. God, my wife, parents and then family & friends.

Congrats to the grads!

It's that time of year again. Another batch of high school students are about to dress in gowns, walk across the stage, and get that paper they've longed to get in their hands for the longest...Their diploma. It's a time of joy not only for each prospective graduate, but also their parents, family, and friends that have made huge contributions in their lives.
One of the celebratory ceremonies that some students take part in is the Baccalaureate service. My wife and I attended two separate services this evening. Each message was good, but the second one caught our attention the most. It was a charge for the grads not to exclude Jesus from their college or working experience. It reminded me of the comment made by Josh McDowell that well under 50% of youth group attendees continue to walk with God after graduating high school.
As I looked each one in the eye on their way out, my prayer was that they would not be on the wrong side of the statistic. Each one has a choice to make. However, the impact of each individual's decision is not limited to that respective person. Multitudes will be affected.
Therefore, I remind us all that we continue to share the responsibility of working with and helping our young students to become the best can be.
