Who Is Really Raising Our Kids?

Have you ever seen or heard things come out of your children that you know was not placed there by you?

You may be saying "I never wanted my child to grow up to be this way."

This picture should explain what the closest voices to our kids are and who is really having the most influence on them.

1) The average teen will watch nearly four hours of T.V. a day.
2) The average teen will spend 17 hours or more a week on the internet.
3) Male teens average over an hour a day playing video games and girls nearly 45 minutes a day.
4) The Average teens spends 12 or more hours a week listening to music.
5) 33% of 13- to- 17-year-olds reported that their parents or guardians know “very little” or “nothing” about what they do on the Internet.

Now how much time do we spend engaged with our children a week/ a day?. Our message will have a hard time getting through when it pales in comparision to the amount of time our kids are spending hearing the message coming from the Media.

Our influence should help teens interpret the media, instead the media tell ours kids how to interpret what we say...and it's not in our favor.

We need to make a stand to not seek out the convenience of letting T.V., computer, video games, and radio raise our kids so we can do other things, because they will surely be shaped in THEIR image and not ours.

Your partner to reach this generation.

Jean
